A trip down memory lane. Florence depicts the view from our room in the Hotel Calzaiuoli, right in the heart of Florence.
Jay and I stayed in the same hotel over 30 years ago right down the block from the the majestic Duomo. What a great location!
I love this city, which is why I took several art history courses concentrating just on Florentine art and the Medici. Maybe one day soon we’ll go back. Even if we don’t, I think I’ll paint this view in color with its rhythmic terra-cotta roofs and contrasting vanilla stucco walls.
